Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN

In Australia, Year 3 and Year 5 students participate in the National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) to evaluate their skills in key areas of learning. Year 3 NAPLAN assesses students' abilities in reading, writing, language conventions, and numeracy. It aims to gauge their comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and basic mathematical concepts. The assessment provides valuable insights into students' progress and helps identify areas that may require further attention.

Year 7 and 9 NAPLAN

In Australia, Year 7 and Year 9 students take part in the National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), which assesses their proficiency in key areas of learning. Year 7 NAPLAN evaluates students' skills in reading, writing, language conventions, and numeracy. It aims to assess their comprehension, writing style, grammar usage, spelling, and mathematical problem-solving abilities. This assessment builds upon the foundational knowledge acquired in earlier years and provides valuable insights into students' progress, helping to identify areas that may require further attention or support.

Enrolments

At our centre we have specialised classes to assist students to prepare for the NAPLAN exams.. Parents can choose to enrol in our popular School Holiday Programmes' which has a brief NAPLAN practise courses. As an alternative, starting in Term 4 (10 lessons), we start and offer NAPLAN classes, which continue until Term 1 (5 lessons), until students take the NAPLAN test.

In-depth Exam Review

We provide two-hour NAPLAN classes throughout the Term 4 and Term 1. Students must take the exam during this time under stringent exam guidelines. Tutors then grade the exam as a group and go over the exam paper solution in detail.

For Year 3 and 5, we cover the following exam papers: Numeracy, Grammar & Punctuation, Reading and Writing.

For Year 7 and 9, we cover the following exam papers: Calculator and Non-Calculator Numeracy, Grammar & Punctuation, Reading and Writing.

Highly Recommended

The NAPLAN Prep Class is highly recommended for students in Year 3 and 5 class. For Year 3 students it is the first time that they will be sitting an official exam, it is a good idea to prepare them for exam management techniques and the types of questions they could find so they feel less anxious towards the exam on the day. For Year 5 students, this exam is very important because high schools may request for Year 5 NAPLAN results to determine whether they will be accepted into the school.

Michael commenced his maths tutoring with Mark It Up in the beginning of 2017. We felt he would benefit greatly from starting tutoring in year 7 – high school being so very different to primary schooling.  We believe Mark It Up played a big role in Michael’s achievements to date – he had a great year last year and achieved bands 7 and 8 in Numeracy (NAPLAN).  He was rewarded with his efforts in being placed in the highest mathematics class this year.
