Every tutoring option has its strengths. The difference is in what you get week after week.
At Markitup, you don't have to work out what your child needs to learn before they walk through the door.
A proper teaching program. Students follow a structured learning pathway rather than deciding what to learn each lesson.
Programs are aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Lessons are planned with clear learning objectives and progression.
All program resources are supplied. Parents don't need to work out what materials their child needs.
A consistent program, curriculum, resources and teaching approach.
Maximum 8 students.
Students learn alongside peers, ask questions and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Group learning doesn't mean your child becomes a number. Tutors get to know each student's level, school, strengths and areas for improvement.
Tutors speak with students about what they're learning at school, what they find difficult and what assessments are coming up.
The core program is structured, but support can be tailored to the individual student.
Purpose-built learning centres designed around teaching and learning.
We can provide additional revision and learning material to help students prepare for upcoming school assessments and exams.
Where appropriate, we can recommend additional lessons or support.
Student progress is monitored throughout the term.
Progress reports sent by email twice each term.
Your child can continue with Markitup from Pre-kindy through to Year 12.
Your child's education is supported by a team, not just one person.
You don't need to arrive knowing what your child should be learning or what resources they need. We guide the way.
Lessons are carefully planned around the Australian Curriculum, with structured programs, teaching resources and a clear learning pathway for each stage of your child's education.
Your child isn't simply given a worksheet or asked what homework they have this week. We know what we're teaching, why we're teaching it and where we're taking them next.
Because your child is supported by a team, not just one tutor, there's consistency even when someone is away. And you'll receive a progress report by email twice each term, so you're never left wondering, "Are they actually improving?"
Less guesswork.
More consistency.
A clear plan for learning.
That's the Markitup difference.
Book a free trialFor more than 10 years, Markitup has helped students learn, grow and achieve across our three centres in South West Sydney.
Our programs are built on more than 16 years of experience in the tutoring industry, with curriculum, teaching programs and learning materials researched, developed and refined in-house. They keep evolving behind the scenes, and they have been praised and endorsed by school teachers.
Students need time to learn properly. Not simply to be introduced to a concept, complete a worksheet and move on, but to understand it, practise it, question it and use it until it becomes part of what they know.

Each term, students focus on two key topics. Each topic gets a dedicated five-week cycle.
Five weeks on one topic might sound slow. It is one of the reasons our students learn so deeply.
Five weeks on one topic might sound slow. We believe it is one of the reasons our students learn so deeply.
More time lets concepts settle. Students revisit ideas, work through different types of questions and develop the confidence to apply their knowledge independently.
The result isn't short-term familiarity, but deeper understanding, stronger mastery and longer-term retention.
Every topic begins with thorough teaching.
We don't expect students to piece together their understanding from worksheets or homework. Our tutors explain the concepts, develop the foundations and work through the knowledge students need to progress.
The aim is to understand why something works, not simply remember what to do.
Theory is followed by class examples, discussion and interaction.
Students ask questions, explain their thinking and hear how classmates approach a problem. A private lesson can offer individual attention, but learning doesn't have to happen in isolation.
At Markitup, students learn from their tutor and from one another. Questions are welcomed, ideas are shared and learning is genuinely enjoyable.
Students are given dedicated time to practise independently.
They work through questions, apply what they have learnt and build the confidence to solve problems on their own.
And when they get stuck, their tutor is right there, so nobody goes home unsure of what to do next.
Real learning takes time.
Students need repeated chances to retrieve information, apply concepts and work through different questions before knowledge becomes secure. For most students, one hour of tutoring alone is not enough.
For students who struggle with focus or getting started, a dedicated place and time to study each week makes a real difference, with a tutor there to guide them.
After four weeks of teaching, discussion and practice, students complete a topic test in Week 5.
It shows what students have actually retained and how confidently they apply it independently. It also shows us which areas need more reinforcement.
Testing isn't simply about a mark. It's another part of the learning process.
Our goal isn't simply to get through next week's test.
We want today's knowledge to become the foundation for what they learn tomorrow. Spending more time on each topic builds deeper understanding before moving forward.
Knowing something today is one thing. Remembering it, understanding it and using it months later is another.
Structured enough to provide a clear learning pathway. Flexible enough to respond to the students in front of us. Purposeful enough to make every lesson count.

As children grow, so do their needs, their challenges and their potential. From Pre-kindy through to Year 12, our programs evolve with every stage.
The early years are where a child's relationship with learning begins.
Our programs build early literacy, numeracy, thinking and classroom skills through engaging, purposeful learning experiences.
The goal: a confident child who is ready to learn.
Book a free trialPrimary School is about more than where a child is today. Even students achieving A grades benefit from developing the discipline, routine and study habits that shape how they learn in the years ahead.
Our Primary programs build academic knowledge while developing independence, resilience, confidence and the ability to learn well.
Because the time to build strong learning habits is before high school demands them.

Markitup has been part of the South West Sydney community for over 10 years. Our story began with our Founder, Nhi Chang, who grew up in South West Sydney and is proud to be giving back to the community that shaped her.
While studying a Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW, Nhi started private tutoring as a side job, like many university students do. But it quickly became more than that. She was deeply committed to her students, took pride in their progress and consistently delivered strong results.
Nhi's connection to tutoring is deeply personal. Coming from a Vietnamese and Chinese family, with parents who were first-generation immigrants to Australia and had limited opportunities for formal education, education was always a priority.
Her parents worked hard to give her opportunities they never had, investing time and money into her education and tutoring while she attended a local public school. That investment made a difference.
Nhi experienced tutoring from both sides, first as a student and later as a tutor. She knows what makes a lesson engaging, and what helps a student genuinely understand rather than simply complete another worksheet. That experience became the foundation for Markitup.

Take the time to understand students. Teach them well. Help them believe they can do it. And give them the foundations to go further.
