Our Year 6 Mathematics tutoring builds strong foundations in Maths, alongside English, while helping your child become a more confident, capable and independent learner.
At Markitup, our primary school programs are designed to help children understand what they are learning, practise it properly and build skills they can carry into high school.
Small-group lessons designed around how primary school children actually learn.
Primary school is about more than keeping up with this week's homework.
It is where children develop the skills they will rely on throughout their education: understanding numbers, solving problems, expressing ideas, reading with confidence and approaching unfamiliar questions.
Year 6 is the final year of primary school. We help students consolidate their Maths so they are ready for the faster pace of high school.
At Markitup, we focus on understanding, not simply completing worksheets.
Learn why something works instead of simply memorising a method.
Build confidence through structured practice and guided feedback.
Use skills in different situations so children learn how to think, not just repeat.
Regular revision and assessment help students remember what they have learned.
We offer two primary school programs depending on your child's needs and goals. Both include Year 6 Mathematics.
2 hours per week
ME focuses on building strong foundations in Maths and English through structured teaching, practice and regular revision.

We check student work, identify gaps and use assessment to understand where students need more support.
We want children to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and having another go.
Structured homework designed to reinforce what students have learned in class.
ME builds strong Maths and English foundations. METS adds Thinking Skills: problem solving and reasoning.

No. Selective preparation is not necessary for every child.
However, if you are considering applying for the Selective exam to see how your child goes, we highly recommend spending some time preparing for it, as it makes a significant difference to your child's confidence.
As parents, we can provide the tools and opportunities, but the rest is up to them!
