Stuck on Homework? Get the Help Your Child Needs to Keep Moving.

Homework can sometimes turn a simple school lesson into a frustrating afternoon.

Your child might understand the concept in class but get stuck when they're working independently. Or perhaps they simply need someone to explain the question in a different way.

At Markitup, we offer dedicated Homework Help for students who need assistance with their school homework and classwork.

The focus is on helping your child understand what they're doing, rather than simply giving them the answer.

This may include:

  • Maths homework
  • English homework
  • Assignments and classwork
  • Questions they don't understand
  • Revision of concepts they're struggling with
  • Help understanding instructions and questions

Our Core Programs: ME & METS

Our ME and METS programs follow the Australian Curriculum and are designed to systematically develop your child's Maths and English skills.

Students are taught new concepts, given opportunities to practise them and receive homework to reinforce what they have learned in their Markitup lessons.

Important:

  • Our core classes are not homework-help classes.
  • Lesson time is dedicated to teaching the Markitup program and building your child's skills.

If your child brings their school homework to an ME or METS lesson, our tutors won't be able to spend the lesson completing it with them. Instead, your child can enquire about our separate Homework Help class.

Need Help With School Homework?

That's what our Homework Help class is for.

Our Homework Help class is designed specifically for students who want assistance with their school-assigned homework and classwork.

Your child can bring along the work they're currently completing at school and receive help from our tutors.

How it works

How Does Homework Help Work?

  1. 1

    Bring the Homework

Your child brings their current school homework, worksheets, assignments or questions.

  2. 2

    Ask Questions

They can show our tutor exactly where they're stuck.

  3. 3

    Work Through It Together

Our tutor helps explain the concept, question or instructions so your child can continue independently.

  4. 4

    Build Confidence

The goal isn't just to finish tonight's homework. It's to help your child understand how to approach similar questions next time.

Small classes

Maximum 8 Students Per Class

Small classes. More opportunity to ask questions.

Our classes have a maximum of 8 students, giving your child the opportunity to ask questions and receive help from a tutor while they work.

Is it right for my child?

Is Homework Help Right for My Child?

Homework Help may be suitable if your child:

  • Regularly gets stuck on school homework
  • Takes a long time to complete homework

  • Needs additional support outside their normal school lessons
  • Understands concepts at school but struggles to apply them independently
  • Would benefit from having a tutor available to guide them through their work

Homework Help or ME / METS?

What If My Child Needs More Than Homework Help?

If your child is consistently struggling with their schoolwork, Homework Help may not be the most appropriate long-term solution.

Homework assistance helps your child with the work in front of them. Our ME and METS programs are designed to systematically build their Maths and English skills through a structured program aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

In other words:

  1. 1Homework Help: help with the work your child has been given
  2. 2ME / METS: build the knowledge and skills to become more confident and capable academically

Sometimes a combination of both may be appropriate.
