Fundamentals of Mechanics
Students develop their understanding of motion and events using scientific laws and models.
Year 11 Physics introduces students to new concepts, mathematical applications, scientific investigation and increasingly complex problem-solving.
At Markitup, we focus on helping students understand how and why Physics works, rather than simply memorising formulas.
Markitup has developed its own structured Physics program aligned with the NSW Physics 11–12 Syllabus (2025).
The new syllabus begins for Year 11 in Term 1 2027.
Lessons are taught by experienced, high-achieving tutors who can break down difficult Physics concepts and guide students through challenging problems.

The new Year 11 Physics course consists of three focus areas:
Students develop their understanding of motion and events using scientific laws and models.
Students investigate the properties and behaviours of waves and apply models to explain wave phenomena.
Students explore electric and magnetic fields and the interactions between them.
These three focus areas make up the Year 11 Physics course, with 120 indicative hours including 10 hours of depth studies.
Starting Year 11 Physics soon?
Knowing a formula is only the beginning.
Our lessons focus on helping students understand the relationship between:
Students practise applying their knowledge to both familiar and unfamiliar questions.
Want to see how we teach?
Students need to know:
Our lessons follow a structured approach:
Students are taught the concept, work through examples with their tutor, practise questions and then apply their understanding to more challenging problems.
Students can also bring their schoolwork or questions they are struggling with.
Not sure what your child needs help with?
Physics becomes easier when students regularly practise applying concepts.
Students also receive support preparing for upcoming school assessments.

The new Physics syllabus places Working scientifically throughout the course. Students develop skills in:
These skills are integrated across the Physics focus areas rather than taught separately.
At Markitup, students are encouraged to explain their reasoning, analyse information and communicate their understanding clearly.
Want to know how we support these skills?
Students can bring their schoolwork, assessment questions or difficult Physics concepts to class.
This gives students an opportunity to connect what they learn at Markitup with what they are currently studying at school.
Enrolled Physics students can also receive additional support before upcoming Physics exams.
Understanding Physics requires practice between lessons.
Students receive structured homework to reinforce what they have learned in class and continue developing their problem-solving skills.
Our Year 11 Physics program is aligned with the Physics 11–12 Syllabus (2025).
Starting Year 11 in 2027? Give your child a strong start from Term 1.
Physics can be difficult when students understand the formula but not the concept behind it.
Our tutors focus on explaining why a method works, not just showing students what to write down.
Students learn how to approach problems systematically, check their working and communicate their reasoning.
Our goal is not simply to help students complete more questions. We help students develop the ability to:
These skills are important throughout Year 11 and provide the foundation for Year 12 Physics.
Ready to strengthen your child's Physics?
Maximum 8 students so tutors can provide individual attention.
Students follow a clear program aligned with the NSW syllabus.
Students receive structured Physics booklets with theory, examples and practice.
Learn from tutors who understand both Physics and how to teach it clearly.
Students can bring difficult schoolwork and assessment questions to class.
Regular practice helps students consolidate what they learn.
Students regularly practise the skills needed for school assessments and senior Physics.
Year 11 and 12 students can trial one lesson for every subject before enrolling.
Still deciding? Ask Miu and we'll help you understand how the program works.
Starting early gives students time to understand the concepts, practise regularly and build strong problem-solving skills. Let your child experience a Markitup Physics lesson before enrolling.
The Physics 11–12 Syllabus (2025) starts for Year 11 in Term 1 2027.
The new Year 11 course consists of Fundamentals of mechanics, Waves, and Electricity and magnetism. The course also integrates Working scientifically throughout.
