Build the Foundations That Last

Primary school is about more than keeping up with this week's homework.

It is where children develop the skills they will rely on throughout their education: understanding numbers, solving problems, expressing ideas, reading with confidence and approaching unfamiliar questions.

In Year 3, students apply their number skills to a wider range of problems. Year 3 is also a NAPLAN year, with NAPLAN held in Term 1, generally in March.

Our Year 3 Maths focus

  • Understanding numbers
  • Solving problems
  • Approaching unfamiliar questions
  • Structured practice
  • Regular revision
  • Assessment and feedback
Our approach

Understanding, Not Simply Completing Worksheets

At Markitup, we focus on understanding, not simply completing worksheets.

  1. 1

    Understand

Learn why something works instead of simply memorising a method.

  2. 2

    Practise

Build confidence through structured practice and guided feedback.

  3. 3

    Apply

Use skills in different situations so children learn how to think, not just repeat.

  4. 4

    Retain

Regular revision and assessment help students remember what they have learned.
